§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will institute an investigation into methods of improving health education, including nutrition and poor living conditions, as a method of reducing the need for the drugs.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergResponsibility for national health education programmes rests with the Health Education Council which is funded by the Department. The council evaluates its major campaigns and regularly sponsors further research and surveys to improve its effectiveness and expertise. It aims to concentrate more nutrition, especially nutrition education, in the coming years and is currently developing closer links with environmental health staff.
