§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his policy in respect of the deportation of Cypriot citizens, in cases where access to the original home has become impossible as a result of the Turkish invasion of 1974.
§ Mr. RaisonUnder present policy, no Greek Cypriot would be deported to the north of the island and no Turkish Cypriot to the south. The question of accommodation is carefully considered in every case before removal instructions are given. Deportation to the appropriate area is normally enforced, provided accommodation is available.
§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many citizens of the Republic of Cyprus have been deported in each of the last eight years to (a) that part of the republic under the control of the Government and (b) that part occupied by the Turkish Army.
