§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeFigures for the whole of 1981 are not yet available. For the 12 months ending in June 1981, it is provisionally estimated that about 13,500 pedestrians were hit by cars and 2,000 by motor cycles, mopeds, or motor scooters during the hours of darkness.
