HC Deb 09 February 1982 vol 17 c326W
Mr. Cryer

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland which United States firms have been approached by the Northern Ireland Development Agency since 1977 with a view to those firms establishing factories in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Adam Butler

The Northern Ireland Development Agency is not responsible for approaching companies to invite their interest in locating in Northern Ireland. This function rests with the Department of Commerce. However, I regret that it is not possible to provide a list of firms approached since this would be a breach of commercial confidentiality and would in any case involve disproportionate effort.
