HC Deb 09 February 1982 vol 17 c308W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give the average waiting time for each regional hospital board in Wales for an operation for prostate gland; if he will give an indication of waiting time for National Health Service patients and private patients under the National Health Service; what is his best estimate of the cost of treatment prior to operation for prostate gland in each of the areas of Wales; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The average waiting time in Wales for patients admitted from the waiting list for operation on the prostate gland is about 15 weeks. Separate information for private patients is not readily available.

It is not possible to make a reliable estimate of the cost of treatment prior to any particular type of operation.
