§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Defence, further to the reply of 8 December, Official Report, c. 314, if he will list the title, principal author or name of the committee involved and the subject area of all reports and inquiries other than major ones, made since 1970 into aspects of the organisation, structure and administration of the Ministry of Defence and into its relations with outside bodies; and how many of these reports were published or otherwise made available to the House.
§ Mr. PattieA very large number of reports or inquiries of the kind described have been produced within my Department since 170. However, no central record is kept of this information, which could be obtained only at disproportionate cost of time and effort.
