§ Mr. Arthur Davidsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to assist retired women aged between 60 and 65 years who are currently being taxed on their pensions as a result of personal allowances not having been increased.
§ Mr. RossiRetired women over 60 have the assurance of full-price protection of their pension and will be helped by the Government's continuing efforts to ensure economic and industrial recovery and a reduction in the196W level of inflation. The levels of personal allowance for income tax purposes are matters for my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
