Member 199W for Brent, East on 18 January, Official Report, columns 41–42, if he is yet able to make a statement about discussions with the Nurses and Midwives Whitley council about factors relevant to their employment, including pay, training and qualification requirements.
§ Dr. VaughanFollowing the meetings which the nurses' representatives had in December with my right hon. Friends the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Social Services my right hon. Friend is urgently preparing a paper with a view to finding a more satisfactory long-term method for determining nurses' pay. He hopes to discuss this shortly with both sides of the Whitley council.
