HC Deb 03 February 1982 vol 17 c144W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will ensure that all the routine documents used in transactions between value added tax offices and the general public in Wales are available in a bilingual form.

Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

Customs and excise already print some VAT forms in the Welsh language. All letters received in Welsh are answered in Welsh, and Welsh-speaking officers are available to visit, advise and assist any persons who prefer to communicate in the Welsh language.

Experience has shown that existing facilities are adequate for dealing with Welsh-speaking persons without adding to the range of Welsh language forms at present available.
