§ 17. Mr. Ioan Evansasked the Lord Privy Seal what recent proposals have been made by Her Majesty's Government to the United Nations regarding disarmament and arms control.
§ Mr. HurdAt the last session of the Committee on Disarmament the Government tabled, with four other Governments, a draft of a comprehensive programme of disarmament. At the United Nations General Assembly the Government, as President of the European Community, played a major part in securing the adoption of resolutions calling for negotiations to prohibit chemical weapons and to forestall an arms race in outer space.
