§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in view of his circular HC(81)12, there will be an overall loss of jobs when the contracts of medical staff are transferred from area health authorities to regional health authorities.
§ Dr. VaughanOnly a small minority of the contracts of medical staff which are currently held by area health authorities will be transferred to regional health122W authorities; the remainder will go to the new district health authorities. There will be no change in the number of medical jobs as a result of this transfer. There could be a slight overall increase or decrease in the number of administrative or clerical staff employed to administer these contracts, but it should not amount to more than a handful of posts in total.
