§ Mr. Marlowasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what will be the rules of engagement for the United Kingdom Forces in the Lebanon; how they will be commanded; what command arrangements will exist between them and the supreme commander in the Lebanon; and who and what nationalities will hold the appointments concerned.
§ Mr. HurdThe British contingent will be under its own British commander. He will work alongside the other commanders of the multinational force in a committee under the auspices of the Lebanese Government. The rules of engagement have not yet been worked out. They will have to ensure that our Forces are effectively able to defend themselves.
