§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what facilities are available from his Department to assist in tracing children wrongfully removed from a parent who has been granted custody by the courts.
§ Mr. NewtonThe Department's normal rules regarding confidentiality are waived in such circumstances to the extent that any information the Department holds about a child's whereabouts, or the whereabouts of an adult with whom the child might be expected to be, would be made available to the courts or to the police. If the hon. Member has in mind a particular case, I would gladly make inquiries.
