§ Mr. Rookerasked the Attorney-General what procedure exists for customers to find out information about bad debt judgments against companies before placing orders.
The Solicitor-GeneralEvery county court judgment for £10 or more which is not satisfied within one month of the date of judgment is entered in the register of county court judgments. It remains there until the judgment debtor has satisfied the judgment in full and has obtained a certificate of satisfaction from the appropriate county court. A person seeking information about judgment debts may search the register on payment of the appropriate fee. No such provision exists in respect of judgments obtained in the High Court.
