§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Minister for Trade what steps are being taken through the general agreement on tariffs and trade to ensure that the newly industrialised countries reduce their trade barriers against the import of manufactured goods.
§ Mr. Peter ReesThe GATT ministerial meeting at the end of November agreed to launch a study of the prospects for increasing trade between developed and developing countries. Such a study should include problems of market access and unfair trading practices. We welcome the study and intend to take this additional opportunity to pursue our concern about such trade barriers.
