§ Sir George YoungThe number of one-parent families in Greater Britain at the end of 1980 was 900,000 and the number of two-parent families 6.3 million. The latest available information on the tenure of one-parent and two-parent families is contained in table 2.19 of report on the general household survey for 1980, a copy of which is available in the Library.
