§ Mr. MacGregor[pursuant to the reply, 18 November 1982, c. 275]: Imports from less developed countries as a proportion of the United Kingdom market are estimated as follows:

Manufactured goods 3.3 3.3 Textiles 7.3 7.0 Clothing 18.3 19.0 Manufactured goods, textiles and clothing are defined as products classified to minimum list headings 211–499, 411–429 and 441–449 respectively of the standard industrial classification, revised 1968. Less developed countries are taken as Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and "other developing countries" as defined in the overseas trade statistics.
