§ 17. Mr. Leightonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many committees for liaison between police and community, as recommended by the Scarman report, have been set up in the Metropolitan Police area.
§ Mr. WhitelawConsultative groups, reflecting the guidelines which I issued in June, are now operating in six200W London boroughs. Agreement in principle to set up similar groups has already been reached in 13 other boroughs and districts in the Metropolitan Police district and discussions are continuing in other areas.
