§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many (a) of those who suffered physical injuries and (b) of those who did not, while on active service in the Falkland Islands, are suffering from mental disorders of any kind in consequence of their service; and whether the South Atlantic fund is, or will be, making financial help available to them or to their families.
§ Mr. WigginA total of 30 Service men are still receiving some form of in-patient or out-patient psychiatric treatment as a result of their experience in the South Atlantic; of these only one also suffered a physical injury. The South Atlantic fund is administered to serve the needs of all who suffered from the campaign, including those who have developed psychiatric complaints.
