§ Mr. Craigenasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the disparity in levels of fees for full-time advanced courses at educational institutions in Scotland, he will make available additional funds to local education authorities to enable them to reduce the fees charged for courses in colleges of further education to the level now charged for courses in central institutions.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherMy right hon. Friend's proposals for grant for 1983–84 were notified to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities on 10 December. He also told the convention that he proposes to increase relevant expenditure for rate support grant for 1983–84 by £4 million to recognise the loss of income which authorities would incur by bringing their fees into line with central institution fees.
