§ 38. Sir Anthony Meyerasked the Secretary of State for Defence what consultations he has had with Defence Ministers of European member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation regarding the relative contribution of European countries and the United States of America to the defence of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation area.
§ Mr. NottI met my Eurogroup colleagues on 29 November and we reaffirmed our determination to help strengthen the Alliance by making the European contribution as strong and cohesive as possible. The scale of the European contribution was described in the Eurogroup's communiqué, a copy of which has been placed in the Library of the House.
