Mr. Wellbelovedasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will issue guidelines to local authorities in respect of fees charged for the grant of music and dancing licences in the light of the increase in fees proposed by some authorities involving a tenfold increase above fees previously charged by magistrates' courts.
§ Mr. RaisonNo. Under part I of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 an applicant for the grant, renewal or transfer of an entertainments licence is required to pay a reasonable fee determined by the appropriate licensing authority.
