§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will take steps to allow payment of Christmas bonus to children who receive attendance allowance while staying with their parents over the Christmas holiday, but who are at school during the relevant week for qualifying; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what is his estimate of the cost of paying the Christmas bonus to children who receive attendance allowance while staying with their parents over the Christmas holiday, but who are at school during the relevant week for qualifying.
§ Mr. RossiI regret that the information necessary to estimate the cost of paying the bonus in respect of these children is not available. I have no plans to change the present arrangements under which entitlement to the bonus depends upon entitlement to a qualifying benefit in a specified week.
