§ Dr. BoysonIn January 1982, the latest date for which information is available, there were 185 secondary grammar, 357 secondary modern an 3,358 comprehensive schools maintained by local education authorities in England. In addition, there were 13 technical schools, 659 middle schools deemed secondary and 50 other secondary schools. Information about schools in Wales is the responsibility of my right hon.
