§ Mr. NewtonSection 64 of the 1975 Act introduces new sections 32A and 32B into to Children and young Persons Act 1969. Section 32A(2), (3), (4) and (5), and section 32B(1) and (3) are already in force.
Urgent consideration is being given to the arrangements necessary for further implementation to the extent required 448W to make parents eligible for legally aided representation when an order is made under section 32A(1). It is not possible to say when section 64 will be fully implemented, since the provisions introducing section 32B(2), about the appointment of guardians ad litem, have resource implications for local authorities and the probation service.
