Table 2 gives an analysis by Standard Industrial Classification of the number of unfilled vacancies at employment and careers offices in the Glasgow travel-to-work area on 12 August 1982, the latest date for which this information is available. The unfilled vacancy figures represent only those vacancies notified to employment and careers offices and remaining unfilled on the day of the count. They do not purport to be a measure of all vacancies in the area. Because of possible duplication the figures for Employment and Careers Offices should not be added together.

The vacancy figures do not purport to be a measure of all vacancies in the area and because of possible duplication between the vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices the two figures should not be added together. They cannot therefore be used to provide the ratios requested.
