HC Deb 06 December 1982 vol 33 c373W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Lord President of the Council which of the items for sale at the shop adjacent to the Strangers' Cafeteria are no longer to be sold to persons other than hon. Members or Officers of the House; for how long such items were previously on sale to other persons; and what problems had arisen as a result.

Mr. Charles Irving

I have been asked to reply.

I am arranging for a list to be sent to my hon. Friend of the items no longer available to persons other than hon. Members or Officers of the House. A copy will also be placed in the Library. The period for which these items were previously available to other persons varies from a few weeks to some 6 years.

The decision to provide a Members' only counter was taken by the Catering Sub-Committee of the Services Committee following representations by a number of hon. Members.
