Dr. John Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cases of the deliberate misuse of poisons involving birds and mammals were notified to him in 1981; and how many involved alpha-chloralose, mevinphos and strychnine, respectively.

A number of incidents involving the poisons referred to were notified in 1981 but these cannot necessarily be attributed to deliberate misuse. The number of cases investigated and the type of animals involved were as follows:
