HC Deb 06 December 1982 vol 33 c334W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Prime Minister why she will not institute a formal investigation into how the classified standing Cabinet Office instruction on the confidentiality of the Joint Intelligence Committee, together with details of the committee's operation, was made available to The Times newspaper and published in part on Monday 29 November.

The Prime Minister

I do not think that it would serve any useful purpose to do so, especially as much of the material contained in the article in question had appeared in the press previously.
