HC Deb 06 December 1982 vol 33 c354W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Minister for Trade what is the level of the quota agreed by the European Commission for imports of men's and boy's knitted and crocheted suits, category 75, into the United Kingdom from the People's Republic of China.

Mr. Peter Rees

Following representations by the United Kingdom, a provisional annual quota of 9,000 men's and boy's knitted or crocheted suits (category 75) from China has been agreed by the European Commission for 1982 and 1983, pending agreement on a definitive quantitative limit under the terms of the "basket extractor" provision of the EC/China bilateral textiles agreement.
