Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what are the reasons for the deferral of Air Staff Target 1228 on anti-radar missiles and its subsequent reinstatement.

The need for a weapon to meet Air Staff Target 1228 remains and a formal request for proposals has been issued. No decision will be taken until the available options have been fully evaluated.
