§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if agricultural export subsidies constitute one of the basic principles of the common agricultural policy which are accepted by Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithWhilst the Government continue to press for improvements in the operation of the common agricultural policy, they recognise the need in present circumstances for export refunds as a mechanism for enabling surplus produce to be sold in other countries at the prevailing world market price in conformity with agreed international trade rules.
