§ Mr. RossiUnder the Social Security (Maternity Grant) Regulations 1981, non-contributory maternity grant provided for in section 5 of the Social Security Act 1980 will be paid in respect of confinements expected to occur on or after 4 July 1982. Parliamentary approval of provision for this new service has been sought in the 1982–83 Main Estimates for the family benefits Vote (Class xii 3), pending that approval, the necessary expenditure will be met by a repayable advance from the Contingencies Fund.
