§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Minister for Trade if he has considered the complaints sent to him relating to the trading practices of Cozyhomes Improvements Ltd. in the Leicester area; and whether he will refer them to the Director General of Fair Trading for consideration in respect of the use of his powers under part III of the Fair Trading Act 1973.
§ Dr. VaughanI am passing a copy of the documents to the Director General of Fair Trading. I should, however, point out that he can take action under part III of the Fair Trading Act 1973 only if a trader has persisted in a course of conduct which is detrimental to the interests of consumers and is to be regarded as "unfair to consumers" under the terms of the Act.
