§ Dr. VaughanI have issued a warning about the dangers of baby nests lined with material such as nylon, which does not readily absorb mucus and vomit, and about certain other dangerous characteristics of these products. It would be premature to consider a ban until these characteristics have been defined in a standard that I have asked the British Standards Institution to prepare. In the meantime, my Department has asked suppliers to attach labels warning parents of the risks of leaving babies unattended in baby nests.
