§ Mr. Lofthouseasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of his visit to West Yorkshire on 19 March, he will now provide further financial aid to the West Yorkshire county council for its derelict land programme.
§ Mr. HeseltineIn allocating the derelict land programme this year preference is being given to reclamation schemes submitted by local authorities which will lead to immediate development by the private sector. Until the amount to be allocated to such schemes is known I cannot say what provision will be made for particular local authorities' programmes. Decisions on the allocations will be taken shortly an local authorities notified as soon as possible.
