HC Deb 26 April 1982 vol 22 c214W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, pursuant to his answer of 9 March, Official Report, c. 380, and in view of the growing numbers of reports from sources such as teachers' organisations claiming a rapid growth in juvenile delinquency in schools, vandalism, terrorism, truancy, threatening and actual violent behaviour, not only among senior pupils but also in primary schools, he will cause a national investigation to be made to ascertain how prevalent these activities are and what action should be taken to prevent them.

Dr. Boyson

No. These are matters calling for constant local vigilance and action rather than national investigation.
