§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if his Department is aware of any research work being carried out into schizophrenia in the United Kingdom with respect to the following (a) differential rates of flushing following the administration of niacin to schizophrenics and non-schizophrenics, (b) schizophrenia and prostaglandins synthesised from dihomogammalinolenic acid, (c) the incidence of schizophrenia amongst the congenitally blind, (d) the effect of light upon synthesis of melatonin, and hence levels of prostaglandin PGE1, (e) the incidence of arthritis amongst schizophrenics and vice versa; and if he will make a statement of the current findings of the research.
