§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Energy under what EEC scheme Eton college was given £12,000 in connection with a solar heating system during 1981.
§ Mr. MellorThe EEC regulation, under which Eton college has been awarded a financial contribution of £12,080 in respect of a solar heating system for a swimming pool, was Council regulation EEC 1302/78 of 12 June 1978.
The purpose of the support is to provide for the demonstration of performance of solar systems by detailed monitoring in different climatic conditions within the Community.
The regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Communities No. L 158 of 16 June 1978; the call for tenders for solar heated swimming pools was published in No. C 24 of 31 January 1980. The Official Journal is held in the Library of the House.
