§ Mr. Michael AlisonThe scheme is a new employment measure announced by the Prime Minister in the House on 27 July 1981 and introduced in January of this year. Quarterly payments in respect of initial applications will begin this month. Provision has been made in the 1982–83 Supply Estimates under Class IV, Vote 14, subhead A5. Pending parliamentary approval of the Estimate, expenditure will be met by repayable advances from the Contingencies Fund.
