§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will estimate the numbers for Northern Ireland of (a) children who are of an age where the health of their teeth may benefit from fluoridated water supplies living in areas where that water is fluoridated and (b) the number of persons over 16 years of age whose teeth cannot benefit.
§ Mr. John PattenInformation on the numbers of children and adults in Northern Ireland living in areas where water is fluoridated is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. The dental profession considers that all adults with natural teeth benefit to some extent from fluoridation of water supplies.
