§ Mr. Allen McKayasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the fact that a firearms and shot gun licence fee which cost five shillings 20 years ago now costs £25, he will reject any proposals to introduce further large increases in the fee.

§ Mr. MayhewThe current fees for the grant of firearm and shot gun certificates, which took effect on 1 July 1980, are £25 and £12, respectively. Any changes will take account of the outcome of the review which is being conducted into the basis of calculating the fees and the Government's general policy that such fees should recover the full costs of operating the licensing system.
