HC Deb 05 April 1982 vol 21 c256W
Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in pursuance of the reply dated 2 February, Official Report, column 65, given to the hon. Member for Walsall, North regarding the level of individual savings taken into account in deciding whether single payments for fuel bills should be made for the winter period, if he will now publish the information in the Official Report.

Mr. Newton

I regret that there is no information available about the number of claims made under regulation 26 of the Supplementary Benefits (Single Payments) Regulations that were unsuccessful because the claimant had savings in excess of £300 nor about the number of successful claims in which any excess savings were taken into account. The information that I shall publish in theOfficial Report in due course will relate solely to the number and average size of awards.
