HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c408W

Mr. Michael Brown asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he has received any representations from public bodies and other organisations relating to advertisements on the outside of London cabs; (2) what representations he has received from the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association regarding advertisements on the outside of London cabs; (3) what discussions he has had, if any, with the Metropolitan Police regarding advertisements on the outside of London cabs.

Mr. Raison:

It is for the Assistant Commissioner of the Police of the Metropolis, as the licensing authority, to decide whether advertisements should be permitted on the outside of London cabs. We have received no formal representations on this subject.
