HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c429W

Mr. Parry asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from the divisional office of the Association of Scientific, Technical and Managerial Staff, Liverpool, relating to the effect on his inner city policy of the proposed closure of the Liverpool to Belfast ferry; what reply he has sent; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. King:

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland is the Minister principally concerned with this matter. I have had one letter from the Liverpool Branch of ASTMS dated 3 August; a reply was sent on 24 August. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has discussed the issue both with management and unions and is keeping me informed about developments.
