§ Mrs. Dunwoody asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations he has had with the new district health authorities about the decision to lodge consultants' contracts with the regional health authorities.
§ Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg: As district health authorities have only just come into being in shadow form, consultation with them would have been inappropriate. Extensive consultations did take place with existing health authorities, the National Association of Health Authorities and other health service interests.
