§ Mrs. Knight asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will endorse Recommendation 365 of the Assembly of West European Union which asks the Council to entrust the International Secretariat of the Standing Armaments Committee with the research necessary for the preparation of a report on the role and contribution of armed forces in the event of natural or other disasters in peace time.
§ Mr. Wiggen: The subject does not fall within the competence of the Standing Armaments Committee as defined by the Council of the Western European Union.
