asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether prisoners in prisons in Great Britain will be permitted to wear their own clothes.

Mr. Mayhew:

Remand prisoners and female prisoners in England and Wales are allowed to wear their own clothes. There are no plans to extend these arrangements.
