HC Deb 28 October 1981 vol 10 cc385-6W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what rules govern the use of the Irish language during prison visits at Her Majesty's prison Maze.

Mr. John Patten

[pursuant to his reply, 27 October 1981]: Northern Ireland prison standing orders require conversations between prisoners and their visitors to be in English unless they are not capable of conversing adequately in English.
