§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in his consideration of local rate support grants, he will take note of the report financed by his Department and prepared by Leicester university, which shows the disproportionate amount of total local authority expenditure caused by a decline of population in inner cities because of debt charges spread over 60 years incurred in previous decades.
§ Mr. King:Once I have received the report of this research project I shall be able to assess its conclusions.
